Improving accessibility though a few experience oriented changes
Wormhole Escape v0.2 has been launched!
In order to make the game more accessible, some of the rough edges of my game had to be smoothered.
First dissappointment a player will experience would be the sound, or the lack thereof. While the soundtrack is far from perfect, i think it adds a bit of value to the gameplay. I also added a master volume control in the Main Menu, in the eventuality that the music might not be on your taste. Oh, and i also added a Main Menu! Now you will not be thrown directly in action, but will be presented with a chance to make small tweakings through the modest configuration screen integrated in the menu. Hooray!
Speaking of configuration, a point has been raised multiple times about the distracting nature of the background. In order to fix this, one of the configurations allows the player the liberty to dim down the brightness of the star particles. I would not suggest going down to 0 as the game might start to look bleaker than before. Another aspect of the game that it could be improved is the gameplay speed. Some would like it faster, other slower. In order to solve this, i added 2 other difficulties, beyond the original one. A faster, more risky and more rewarding one. And a slower, less ricky and less rewarding, but chiller one. Take note that changing the difficulty will affect the scoring logic of the game.
This is all for now. If you feel that more improvements can be made to the game, please, let me know.
Game on,
Kenny
